I’m a musician and web designer & developer working in Austin, Texas. 

Experience

Heimsath Architects — 2009

As a summer intern at Heimsath, I managed contact lists and performed various secretarial duties while redesigning the company’s website. I went on a few field trips to building sites as well, seeing architectural designs put into action.

Astonish Designs — 2010-present

The owner of Astonish Designs, Tim Hamilton, mentored me in web design and development using Drupal as part of a program through my high school called Independent Study Mentorship. Through this mentorship I completed several website designs and put them into action using Drupal.

Freelance Web Designer & Developer — 2008-present

As a freelance designer, I’ve worked on several projects. I’ve completed websites for free for non-profit organizations, worked on a number of personal projects, and taken on paying clients.

The Fireants — 2007-2010

I played piano, organ, and keyboards for a local bluegrass/folk/blues/jam band, The Fireants, which ended up winning two Austin Music Awards and releasing an EP while I was a member.

Secret Spice — 2008-2010

I played keyboards for Secret Spice, another local Austin band, recording several songs (although never releasing any) and playing gigs around town. Secret Spice fused jam-band elements with blues, funk, and jazz to create a genre-less sound.

Education

Westlake High School — Graduation in May 2011

Skills

As a developer, I specialize in WordPress, PHP, and Python/Django. With these skills come knowledge of MySQL, Apache servers, and site architecture. The scope of my projects have ranged everywhere from content presentation to complex user-oriented applications.

As a designer, I’ve worked with Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML5, CSS3, and make W3C-compliant sites compatible in all major browsers.

As a musician, I play drums, piano, synthesizers, Hammond B-3. I’ve played in various genres—synthpop, jazz, blues, rock, bluegrass, folk, live electronica—and performed as a DJ. I compose classical and jazz music, and produce electronic music with Ableton Live.
